These sweet Sacred Heart earrings are handmade in Brazil. They are imprinted inside the plastic....very light-weight, have rhinestone in them, and are on sterling hooks.
At the beginning of the 19th century, soap bars were stamped by hand with wooden stamps or manual stamp machines. The brand or drawing was the signature of the soap maker. Pre de Provence in collaboration with Rampal Latour created a soap mold to duplicate the old style and design of the ancient soap stamps. L'Ondine, a lovely water spirit/mermaid from French and German folktales is stamped on this pale lavender soap, and partially pictured on the box.

The technique of painting or illustrating glass and then displaying it with the painted side down (i.e., reverse-painted) originated in the town of Cajamarca. The method is ingenious in that it automatically protects the design from any damage. A thin layer of wood adheres to the glass and gives the frame or box its shape and also protects the art from behind.
